Materials Overview

PVDF Properties

PVDF (KYNAR®) is generally used in applications requiring the high purity, strength, and resistance to solvents, acids, bases and heat. Compared to other fluoropolymers, like PTFEPFAFEP, it has an easier melt process because of its relatively low melting point of around 177°C.

KYNAR® is a registered trademark of Arkema, Inc

Maximum Usage Temperatures for PVDF

Lower Chain Length Improved Flow
Strong Inter-chain Forces Higher Modulus and Strength
Alternating C-H and C-F Structures Improved Flammability
